About Me

Welcome! I started this blog in 2006 after wanting to share my aviation and technology experiences with others.

Pilot by hobby or profession?

By hobby — for now. I am a Private, Instrument Rated, pilot living in the Kansas City metro area with my family and Siberian Husky. In my spare time I fly.

Network Engineering Stuff:

I work as network engineer based in the Kansas City Metropolitan area. After getting my start in Information Technology in middle and high school, my first job was at a small computer store in 1995. After specializing in Novell servers for several years, I determined I wanted to work with network infrastructure. I had two college internships working on both Enterprise UNIX and Windows Server teams but I have spent that last 13 years working with a team that supports the network infrastructure for a leading privately held investment management firm. Initially I supported the full range of data network infrastructure but as of the last several years I have added a heavy emphasis on voice, contact center, collaboration and virtualization.

When not working, you can find me spending time with his family, snow skiing, learning guitar, running and piloting aircraft as a Private, Instrument Rated, pilot.
